How to Cast Phone to PC
Today, I want to show you how to cast your mobile phone to your PC. First of all, what does it mean to cast? When we say cast, it means that whatever you see on your phone screen, it will appear on your PC screen. It can be either your browser, photo, apps or even playing a game, you can have that appear on your PC screen.
You can use any type of phone you like. It can be either an android phone or an iPhone. For PC, you could be using Windows, Mac or Linux. Whatever combination you have, the instruction in this post will surely work.
LetsView
In this post, I am going to walk you through the LetsView app. It is a free phone to PC casting app that work on multiple platforms. Besides, you can get a very high quality in terms of resolution using this app. It will not cost you anything to use and I always love that!
Install LetsView on PC
Let’s get started with installing the LetsView app on your PC. First, open a web browser and type in this link https://www.letsview.com. Once landed on the website, click on the “Download” button to download the app. As a result, you will see an exe file named “letsview.exe” being downloaded on your PC. Next, click on the file and go through the installation process. Finally, you should have got the LetsView app installed on your PC. Next, let’s install the app on your phone.
Install LetsView on Mobile Phone
For android phone, you can download the app from Play Store and for iPhone, you can download from App Store. Simply type in “Letsview” in the search box and the app should be shown on the top view. Let’s move back to your PC and launch the LetsView app. You should see the screen as below. Take note of the PC name and WiFi name as you need to connect it from your phone.
Next, launch the app on your mobile phone. You should see the same WiFi name and IP address if you are connecting to the same wireless network. In the “Connection” section, you should see your PC name as well. However, if you don’t see your PC name, try to click on the “Redetect” button to refresh the connection.
Now, click on the PC name to get the mirroring options. Then you will see 2 options, the “Phone Screen Mirroring” and “Computer Screen Mirroring”. In this case, click on the “Phone Screen Mirroring” and you will be asked to give permission to start casting. Click on the “Start now” to grant permission and start casting. Finally, you should see your phone screen is casting on your PC screen.
Cast PC on Phone
Now, let us look at this interesting feature where you can cast your PC screen to your phone. This feature is more like a remote-control function where you can control your PC screen. However, personally I do not see this feature is useful if you want to use it on a mobile phone. In general, phone screen is relatively too small and the control from a mobile phone can be very difficult. It would be more viable to use this feature on a tablet.
Follow the same steps to cast phone on PC, but this time, choose the “Computer Screen Mirroring” option on your mobile phone. Thereafter, there will be a permission request appear on your PC screen. Click on the “Allow” button to grant permission and at the same time you will see your PC screen shows on your phone screen.
Other Functions
Besides casting function, you can find other very useful functions in LetsView. You can find these functions from the top menu on your mobile phone. Let me go through 3 functions that are very useful in my opinion.
Brush. This is a very useful tool for annotation in your presentation. It provides you a pen tool to annotate on your phone screen. You can also choose different color to annotate.
Record. This function is very useful when you need to create a video instruction or tutorial. It records every movement you make on your phone screen.
Always on top. This function is very useful when you have multiple applications on your desktop screen. It will make sure your phone mirroring is always on the topmost layer of your desktop screen.
