In my last blog post, I talked about how to create a successful online business in 4 steps processes. The 4 steps processes are to choose an interest, build a website, get traffic, and earn revenue. Today, I will share with you the 6 ways to earn money with your website.
There are 6 ways to earn money with your website:
- Join Affiliate Marketing programs
- Google AdSense ads and other advertising programs
- Building an email list
- Promote Amazon products
- Sell ads space on your website
- Create your own product
#1 Affiliate Programs
Affiliate is a program for you to earn money online by promoting products or services for online retailers.
Depend on the niche your website is about, you can find a relevant affiliate program to join and promote.
For example, you can join and promote a weight loss affiliate program with your website if your website is targeting on weight loss niche.
So, how do you find an affiliate program?
It’s very simple, you can simply search in Google by typing in “keyword + affiliate program”. Let’s assuming that you are in weight loss niche and your keyword is “weight loss”. So, you can simply search for “weight loss + affiliate program” in Google. You will get a list of affiliate programs in weight loss.
Below are some other affiliate marketing programs you can join:
- Clickbank
- Commission Junction
- ShareaSale
- BlueSnap used to be Plimus
- MarketHealth
#2 Google AdSense Ads
Google AdSense is a free, simple way to make money online by placing ads on your website. It is another way to make money online.
You will need to sign up an account with Google AdSense to participate in the program. Please take note that you will need your own domain to apply a new Google AdSense account. You cannot apply for an AdSense account using a subdomain.
Once your account is approved, you can log in to Google AdSense to get an ads code and place it in your website. Once the ad code is inserted in your website, you are ready to earn money with AdSense.
If everything done correctly, ads will show in your website. When visitors click on your ads you will get paid for it. The pay out to you depends on competition and demand of the ads. Generally, it could vary highly from $0.1 up to $20 per click.

#3 Building An Email List
Building an email list is another great way to make money with your website by capturing your visitors email addresses.
Generally, you can do this by offering something in return for your visitor’s email address. The easiest way is to create an e-book and offer it Free to your visitor when they sign up your mailing list with their email address.
You can write an e-book that provides value and solution to solve your visitor’s problem. It can be some sort of guides as well. For example, you can write an e-book about how you successfully lose weight. You can share your experience as well as the methods you used to lose weight.
Email list is also another way to build a relationship with your subscriber over time. You can contact them when you have something new to say.
Of course, email list doesn’t mean you have the right to spam your subscriber’s inbox. This is a big no-no!
You will need email autoresponder software or email marketing tools to help you collect email and manage your list. This tool is essential to help you keep track your email, do follow up email and broadcast email automatically.
Aweber and MailChimp are 2 popular email marketing tools you can find in the market. Personally, I use Aweber and it is easy to use. MailChimp is another tool you can try, it is 100% free.
The next 3 ways are something I have yet to try but it is something people use it to make money with their website. I have done some research and below are what you can do.
#4 Promote Amazon Product
Another way to earn money with your website is to promote product from Amazon by joining Amazon associate program.
The Amazon Associate Program is the official affiliate program for Amazon. It allows you to earn money by promoting any of the many products available on Amazon to your readers.
How Amazon Associate program works is that you send your reader to Amazon website through your affiliate link. If your reader makes a purchase, you will get a commission on that sale.
The great thing is that you will get commission from any other products your reader buys as well! In other word, when your reader buys anything at all from Amazon, not even related to your product you still get paid.
#5 Sell Ads Space On Your Website
You can consider selling ads space on your website when your website is optimized with quality content and can generate solid traffic.
If this is the approach you want to take, you should have some traffic and stats to show your potential advertisers.

However, creating a product required in-depth knowledge of how an affiliate works. Therefore, you should not begin by creating your own product, if you are new to Internet Marketing.
